The Head of the Department of Foreign Languages is Doctor of Philosophic Sciences, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor T. I. Vlasova.

Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport is a modern campus university with all its academic buildings and student support facilities on the campus itself. Most visitors to our University are surprised by the beauty of the open area especially in spring when our famous sacura cherry trees are in full blossom. Though the opportunities for recreation and sport are outstanding and the facilities in the "town and around" impress all the visitors to our University, still of paramount importance is academic education.

According to the University curriculum during the first 2 years all students complete their undergraduate courses in the foreign languages (English, German, and French). Then students obtaining their Master degrees proceed learning foreign languages with the bias on their specialty.

We hope that the single European market will present good opportunities to the students entering higher education in 2010, and students in all departments are encouraged to study a foreign language (e.g. the best students have an opportunity to upgrade their English/German/ French in the groups for technical translators).

Our Department is a community of individuals with a shared interest in education and research and we pride ourselves on the fact that Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport is becoming one of the major creative forces in leading edge railway technology in Ukraine.
