The campus of DIIT
   During the first five-year plan in 1930-1935 main academic and administrative buildings, student accomodation, a refectory were built with combined efforts of students, teachers, workers and employees. In 3-4 years a comfortable campus was appeared. The students have contributed to the construction of their Institute more than 60 thousand man-days.
   During the Great Patriotic war the Institute was evacuated to Novosibirsk. In 1944 the staff of the Institute returned from evacuation to native Dnepropetrovsk. It had to overcome numerous difficulties to liquidate great destructions,to restore academic buildings, student housing, the refectory, workshops and other destroyed objects.
   The Institute (now the University) finds itself in a beautiful park.Student accomodation, sports complex, academic buildings are situated on the walking distance of the campus. DIIT has two academic buildings where lecture rooms, scientific and research labs are located; 5 student housing, sports and recovery camp on the Samara, the Sports Hall, a stadium, a swimming pool, and a polyclinic.
  The University provides good possibilities for amateur creation development, organizing students' leisure, going in for sports. In 1984 The Students' Palace of Culture with thousand-seat assembly hall, the cinema for 250 people and a large dancefloor was opened.
   The Sports Complex gives great opportunities for physical culture and going in for sports including the stadium, the pool, gyms for weightlifting, wrestling, gymnastics, playing fields and jogging tracks. Each student is in a position to choose his/ her favourite kind of sport and improve his/ her own skills.
   Medical and nursing staff of DIIT gives medical advise to students, workers, university's employees and members of their families.
   In the territory of the campus there is a refectory for 600 people. The refectory has the dietetic room with 120 seats.There are two snack-bars serving hot meals.
